hello! this is n'tima from team preusser and I'm here to show you how to make a super simple, (really) easy, inexpensive monogrammed throw pillow. I saw a few on etsy that I adored, but who in their right minds would pay $40 for a THROW pillow, right?

first make sure you have each of these items--

1. a yard of sturdy fabric. (I used beige muslin from Joanns.)

2. needle & heavy duty thread, or a sewing machine.

3. paint & a foam paint brush.

4. chalk

4. large letter/number stencil.

5. stuffing or batting.

start by deciding what size of pillow you want.

I wanted 16x16 inches so I cut two equal squares at 17x17 inches each.

then I printed out a stencil.

(just go to word & blow up the letter of your choice, so much easier & cheaper than store bought stencils. )

tape the stencil in the center of one of the pieces of fabric & paint the letter on.

after this dries, place both pieces of fabric with the inside facing outward & draw a line with chalk 1 inch from the outer edge on each side.

align the two pieces of fabric together with the insides facing each other & start to sew the pieces together along the chalked line.

continue sewing each side until three sides are sewn.

turn the pillow inside out & stuff as much as you desire.

then fold the top seam inward & sew shut.

finally, place on your bed or couch to impress your husband & friends with how domestic & housewife worthy you are.

Today we shopped for our apartment for the first time.

We bought hangers, two toilet brushes, an egg holder, grocery lists, a mug for Steven to drink beer out of and power bars.

Maybe next time we should bring a list.

7 days until we're sleeping in our own apartment. So incredibly excited.

Frankie's pretty stoked too.

DIY Of The Week

~*GLITTER SHOES*~

With a surprise ending.

First you'll need a pair of shoes. I recommend using a light color.

Next, one or two bottles of glitter paint. I only ended up needing one, but depending on how glittery you want your shoes to be, you may need two.

I used Martha Stewart's "Sugar Cube" and loved it. Plus it was on sale at Michael's!

I've seen a few tutorials use glue and actual glitter, but I found this way to be much more cost effective, less time consuming, and a lot less of a mess.

Now we're ready to start.

Remove any shoe laces or accessories and wipe clean with Windex.

Start painting! For my first 2 layers I painted by dabbing to get as much glitter on there as possible.

You're more than welcome to wait an hour between layers as the directions say, but a blow dryer works a lot faster.

3rd and final layer

You can keep going if you want more glamour, but I was happy here.

On your last layer, whatever it may be, paint in one direction all over the shoe.

I chose not to paint the tongue to avoid a mess.

Hooray! You're almost done!

Next step-

Go to the mall with your friend that's back home from school in Colorado and buy yourself some (cute) pajama pants and a shirt.

Also, think about all the cute outfits your new shoes are going to with.

Then come home and find that during your fun time out shopping free of stress, this happened.

And your beautiful creation is ruined.

Last but not least put the culprit outside

and then feel bad so let him back in and snuggle him instead.

Actually, forget that last part. If you're lucky enough to have your shoes survive the drying process, take a picture and send it to me!

Getting The Most Out Of Your Manicure

Alternative title: Things I Wouldn't Have To Do If I Could Afford A Manicure Every Week

I actually really enjoy painting my own nails.

Painting my nails is always much needed "me" time. But I'll admit, once in a while they desperately need professional help. So every so often I head on down to my favorite nail salon and drop cash on some hand and foot rehab. I walk out feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and stunning.

I feel pretty, oh soooooooooooo preeeeeeettttttttttty.

Then 2 hours later I realized I smudged my pinkie while putting on my seat belt and my hands are ruined.

I get out of the shower and some how all of my tips are chipped. I scream profanities towards the Nail Gods.

some other horrible fate that makes me cry on the inside (~~and maybe the outside a few times~~)

3 days later. Hello chips.

Years of these awful instances have made me an expert on keeping your manicure in tip top shape for more than 12 hours. Here are a few tips.

1. Unless you like keeping them long, always ask the nail technician cut down your nails.

You won't have to cut them a few days later and ruin the lovely shape.

I also always ask when it's filing time for a rounded square shape. It holds up really well and looks great!

2. No closed shoes or socks for 24 hours.
Nail polish takes a full day to dry completely. Another common tragedy is forgetting this rule and having my toes completely stuck to my socks.

3. Paint 'em with a no chip top coat after 24 hours.

I know the nail technician puts a coat on top of their masterpiece when it's done, but doing this keeps my nails from much longer. I recommend Essie's No Chips Ahead.

4. Life lesson: when things get ugly, throw on some glitter!
After a few days, you will have a few chips regardless of how careful you are. To keep your manicure nice and clean, paint a layer of glitter polish on top. Finish with a top coat.
It's like a whole new manicure!
I really recommend OPI's Rainbow Connection. It looks good on top of almost any color!

The handsome boy up there (not Frankie, the other one) and I had the day off yesterday and took advantage of being lazy for the first time in over a month.

We stayed in all day then left the house to wander around book stores.

We came home and kept the summer feel going with grilling up some hamburgers and hotdogs served with iced tea.

I'll miss this heat wave when it passes.

Christmas morning was unlike any other.

No tree, 1 brother, and no parents home to watch us unwrap.

But it wasn't lonely or sad. There were smiles and laughs and lots polka dot wrapping paper.

And there were gifts of gratitude and love.

The rest of the day was spent driving up and down California for three more Christmases with our families.

They spoiled us with gifts for our new home and fed us until we couldn't even consider eating ever again.

I have the longest to-do list of things to accomplish by Saturday night,

but in this bit of relaxation I'd like to share some amazing last few days.

On Monday, Miss Mary Claire & I shot a wedding at a Disneyland hotel.

It was absolutely gorgeous and I cannot wait to see all of MC's pictures!

Tuesday I did engagements at Disneyland for a relative who found me on facebook!

Love how the world works these days.

Since the two of us had the day off, Steven and I decided to spend the day there and purchase these-

Now we can go whenever we want!

Getting to spend the day together among all of the gorgeous decorations made it finally feel like Christmastime.

Despite some major changes, I have a feeling that this will be a wonderful Christmas.

In between stressing out about what to get everyone (I take gifting very seriously) and filling etsy orders I got to spend a lovely couple of days with my girls (minus 1.)

We celebrated Mary Claire's birthday and surprised her by having Marielle down for the weekend.

On her actual birthday we went out and had a little shoot with our gorgeous friend Mia.

The rest of our weekend was spent eating, shopping, and laughing.

I start Monday and I am SO excited!
Steven and I ran around town yesterday running a thousand errands, and these shoes were a blessing. Not only are they cute but they're super comfy! Such a good find.

Since swearing to not shop at Forever 21, I've been on a search for cute undergarments at a decent price.
I wandered into Aerie and found out that they currently have 7 undies for $25.50 and 40% off of bras. A fantastic deal if you ask me! I picked out some adorable stuff and I love it all. Seriously, go get on that deal. Your booty will thank you.

Tomorrow my little brother comes home for Thanksgiving and I'm so excited to see him! Definitely thankful that he'll be here for a few days.

I also got a few rolls of film developed from the shoots, but I put up some silly random shots up on flickr. I missed film so much. I hadn't gotten a roll developed since the middle of September. Unacceptable. Never again.

Halloween!

Steven and I started our Halloween with what we had in our closet. I wore my old school uniform, and he wore his awesome boy scout shirt he found vintage shopping.

I hadn't worn my saddle shoes since I was in the 11th grade, and I found a sweet reminder of how long we've been together on the sole.

Nobody believed I was dressed up and NOT in high school, so we had to come up with something different.

Dressing up as Don and Joan from Mad Man was our original plan, but up until 4pm I didn't have a proper dress. We walked into Banana Republic and found this beautiful dress from the Mad Men line on sale! I snatched it up and wore it all night.

But due to a lack of bobby pins, I couldn't do much with my hair which left my costume unconvincing. Oh well, at least I got a pretty dress.

During a storm of trick or treaters, some lovely ladies showed up and helped us get rid of our candy

We watched scary movies over tea and pita pockets, and had a good old time.

It was one of the best Halloweens I've ever had. Hope you had a great one too!

Hello again! I didn't mean to be away for so long, but while being sick for a good 2 weeks, there isn't too much to blog about. Steven and I are all better, but have been busy catching up on the things we couldn't do while we were under the weather.
Today we headed to Old Orange for antique shopping with Sadie and her friend Blair (who has the perfect shade of red hair.)
Sadie is moving to New York this week, and I've been lucky enough to spend sometime with her before she leaves. She and I have been friends for years, and I'm so sad to see her go! But I am so excited for her new adventure on the other side of the states, and I can't wait to visit her.

The antique stores were overwhelmingly huge and filled with amazing things.

Everything closed up early since it's Sunday, but I can't wait to go back and explore all the stores. Antique shopping frustrates me at the moment, because I want to buy everything for my home, except I don't have my own home to put things in. It makes Steven and I really want our own place. Soon enough though!

Ugh, the way this boy dresses himself makes me swoon every time. By the way, today we have been together 56 months. Crazy, right?

But, the weather lately is perfect for tights so I am taking advantage of it. I wore my Betsey Johnson bow tights for the first time and they are the cutest. I love them so much.

Hello October

October has always been a tough month for me. It's home to some of my worst days.
This year is different.
I am welcoming October with open sweater-clad arms, and I couldn't be more excited for what it brings.
Pumpkins, tights weather, red leaves, and of course Halloween!

Oh, and some unexpected rain

Unfortunately, it also brings the flu.
Steven and I have been bed/sick couch ridden with sore throats and coughs for the past few days

Because of this, I have every right to stuff my face with soup and tea

Luckily, I'm feeling well enough today to go get my hair cut and dyed. I'm going back to being a redhead. I seriously can't wait!

Sam & Josh Are Getting Married!

Our good friends Sam and Josh are finally getting married!
Mary Claire, Marielle, and I drove down to Joshua Tree for their engagement shoot.
The day was full of laughs, baked goods, talent, and a whole lot of visible love between the soon to be married couple.
Marielle and Mary Claire are photography goddesses and constantly inspire me to get better.

It wasn't too long ago that Sam took pictures of Steven and I, and I was so honored when she asked me to come along on the shoot.

Surprise Day Off

I had a surprise day off yesterday, as did Steven, so we celebrated by going to my favorite areas of Los Angeles.
Our first stop was Abbot Kinney in Venice Beach. It's a boho chic street full of boutiques and coffee shops. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford much beside some tea, so we sat and sipped and people watched until we were ready to move on.
While driving to the Santa Monica Promenade we spontaneously decided to stop at Main Street for some more affordable shopping. I found this perfect coral peter pan blouse originally from American Apparel at The Closet. It's similar to Buffalo Exchange/Crossroads but with a smaller and much more amazing collection. I spotted some vintage D&G dresses, a vintage Norma Kamali skirt, and 2 amazing Burberry coats at an extremely affordable prices. Definitely going back.
We finally made it to Santa Monica just in time for dinner. We walked around after stuffing ourselves and did some more shopping. Steven and I bought hats at Nordstrom, his a gray beanie and mine a navy blue cloche. Then I found these amazing mauve jeans that I have been searching for. Guess how much I paid for them. Guess. Hint: they're from Urban Outfitters. $6.99 YES, six dollars and ninety-nine cents. Awesome.
We ended the night strolling along the beach and pier hand in hand. It was absolutely lovely. Date days are my absolute favorite.

A Day At The Fair

We spent the day stuffing our faces with food, laughing our butts off in fun houses, riding sick inducing rides, and having good old family fun. I even won two dollars at the horse races! It was a really wonderful day.

A Weekend With Friends (Again)

Friday night Steven and I had dinner with friends by the sea, and came home to two wonderful girls waiting for us.The next morning those wonderful girls and I drove to Joshua Tree to photograph our friends Samantha and Josh.    I'm waiting to get my film back, and for Samantha to see all of her pictures before I post more of the happy couple. I'm really proud of them, and I'm proud of Mary Claire and Marielle for how amazing their pictures came out.   We have plans to visit the desert again soon.
Sunday we woke up early and ventured to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl Flea Market  I didn't find anything, but Steven found a sweet knife so he was content. Mary Claire and Marielle had to leave afterwards, so Steven and I headed to Old Town for dinner. I bought Kate Spade lipstick in Adventurous Red and I'm in love with it.  I'm so glad I got to spend time with Marielle after not being able to see her last weekend, and I love how often Mary Claire is over at my house.  I can't wait until Marielle, MC, N'tima, and Amanda, and our boys are reunited. They are truly the best people I've met in a while.

Date Night

You might get sick of seeing these shoes. I don't care. Steven and I planned to spend the afternoon together, but work ended up occupying both of us. Luckily, we had a few hours together this evening.
Steven wore an American Apparel loose neck t-shirt, 514 Levis, and Clark's Desert Boot.
We shopped at Buffalo Exchange and had savory crepes for dinner. Steven tried wine for the first time, and we sang along to "Hey Jude" while it was being played on the piano.
Romantic indeed.

Far Away Friends

This summer has truly been the greatest. Not only is my love living with me everyday, I've met and become close to the most amazing people. N'tima, Steven, Mary Claire, and Amanda spent the weekend at my house and I had a blast. I don't think I've laughed so much in my entire life.  I am so lucky to have such good people in my life, even if they don't live nearby.
Friday night Steven and N'tima arrived and we had dinner at Downtown Disney. We shared a METER of Margherita pizza between 8 people. It was ridiculous.
On Saturday we met up with Mary Claire in Laguna for brunch, then we went to the beach  after that, we went vintage shopping and tea drinking
and ended the night with tacos and a nail polish party  On Sunday we went flea market shopping in Hollywood.
The flea market was a successful trip. I wore my vintage finds from the day before Vintage shift dress and braided leather belt from American Vintage(hey Mary Claire)
and I found some amazing things  Polaroid 210 Land Camera in original working condition. $20.
  Crystal Wire ring handmade by Ann Samuelsson. $15. There isn't much about her online, but her work has been featured here and here. That night we had fake burgers, regular burgers, and hotdogs on the grill, then a photoshoot on my street after/during a storm
We made a trip to Cha   and then played Apples to Apples, ate deep fried goodies that N'tima made, and laughed a lot until it was bedtime.
The next morning I made a big breakfast, and soon enough it was time to go. The weekend went by in a flash, but I truly had a great time. I can't wait to reunite with these folks soon.

I ordered the latter pair off online before I left to San Francisco. I fell in love with them right as they sold out, but a stroke of luck came and a size 7 showed up. I snatched them up, a half size too small, but they were too cute to pass up.
They came, and I loved them even though they were tight.
A few days latter I went to DSW to spend a gift card I had for my birthday, and there they were! In my true size! And $40 dollars less than what I paid!
I snatched them and they came out to be $39.97 after my gift card. More than half off what I paid for online. Awesome deal is awesome, and I am so much more in love with these shoes now that they didn't break the bank.

Yesterday we had dinner with Mary Claire, but not before we did a little shopping.

Outside Lands in Film

Outside Lands ended a week ago but I just got my film back and I love it.
We drove up to San Francisco Thursday the 11th, and drove back Monday the 15th. It was an incredible weekend full of great music and people.

Steven and I pulled into my driveway at 2am after driving home from San Francisco all day. I've been up since 7 for school, errands, and work. I am seriously exhausted and on the verge of passing out, but I wanted to share my Colorado trip with you while my hair dyes.

My dad, Eddie and I went up to Colorado to visit Billy for a few days. We had a great time all hanging out, and it was nice to remember how good being around your family feels.

Billy took us to his favorite hiking spot, and it was absolutely breathtaking. It was 4 miles round trip and I did it in sandals!
I used expired film on the way up the hill, hence the psychedelic hue. We had a lovely time.

I'm dropping off all of my film I shot in San Francisco tomorrow. I can't wait to get the pictures back and share my wonderful weekend with you.

Our friends Andrew and Erika came all the way up here from Lake Elsinore for a day at the aquarium and gluten free pizza

I've always been fascinated by sea life. I love just walking around and watching these amazing creatures.

Tomorrow I leave for Colorado to see my brother after almost 3 months. I'm incredibly excited to give him a huge hug. He's taking us hiking!
The second I get home on Thursday, Steven and I are driving up to San Francisco.
Busy week but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Meet Frankie

Meet the newest addition to our family, Frankie!

I met this adorable puppy a week ago

I would have never guessed a week later he'd be mine!

He's a five month old lab, dachshund, and husky mix given to us by our friend Amanda. He's the sweetest thing and we already love him to bits.

He was really shy at first but has warmed up an incredible amount since this morning.

He's getting along really well with Woody

Woody was really defensive at first, but eventually he lowered his guard and now they will not stop playing with each other. It's adorable.

I took them on a walk and it went well once we got the hang of it.

They napped afterwards, so I made cupcakes for Steven to come home to.

I didn't feel like making a big mess, so I just used a Devil's Food mix and put Nutella in between the layers.
If only I liked chocolate.

And that was my day today.

I'm truly loving life.

As much as I would like to post every picture and detail my entire weekend, I'm going to spare you and give you a synopsis of my wonderful trip.

Thursday night, Mary Claire came over and we all went to see the last Harry Potter movie.

Steven and I went to Whimsical Alley that morning and bought a bunch of tattoos and a few wands to accessorize.

Our deathly hollows tattoo didn't come off until days later.

The next morning, MC and I packed up her car and headed to Marielle's. We made a necessary Starbucks and ATM run, but were officially on our way by noon. The drive up to our first stop was full of excitement and conversation, and before I knew it I was sitting inside Marielle's house.

Before I go any further, I guess it's important to note that we all met through tumblr. I had already met N'tima and her husband Steven while they were honeymooning here in Southern California. Mary Claire and I met back in the fall, and she accompanied me to meet the newlyweds during their honeymoon. Marielle and I hadn't met before this trip but we hit it off spectacularly.

After a few errands with Marielle (necessary film stop) we were on our way to N'tima's. This was the longest stretch of the drive, but it went by fairly quickly due to even more mounted excitement and lots of talking.

We pulled into the Preusser's home and were greeted with hugs and Margherita pizza. We spent the night staying up way too late catching up on each other's lives. Us guests set up in the guest room and quickly passed out (or at least I did, I was so tired.)

The next morning N'tima made us parfaits and we collectively got ready for photos.

We drove to a field full of windmills and took pictures of the lovebirds and each other

After lunch and some quality laughing on the internet time, us girls did what we do best. Shopping.
Thrift shopping, that is.

I found these adorable tea cups, and a brand new coffee press! I love them. I also found a Polaroid with an almost full pack of film still inside. SCORE!
We laughed our heads off at creepy dolls and swooned over amazing finds. It was a blast.
We had Quickly's for dinner, and N'tima's insistence and I'm so glad we did. It's similar to Cha For Tea but the drink I had was ten times better than anything I've ever had at Cha. The food was also very very good.

After filling our bellies, we went back to the house for quality girl time.
NAIL POLISH PARTAAAAAAY

The next morning we woke up to an amazing breakfast cooked by the Mr & Mrs and went out to take more pictures.

I am a terrible model (awkward forever) but Mary Claire took this one of me that I love a lot.

One the way to Quickly's the day before, I spotted a sunflower field and insisted we investigate. We pulled over, but the owners had built moats between us and the flowers. Defeated, we left but promised to return the next day to find a spot that we didn't have to walk through water to get through.
And we did.

We stayed in the flower field for 2 hours before it got too dark to shoot anymore. I was in love and ecstatic to be photographing in a dream location. I took some of my favorite pictures I've ever taken, and it was amazing to be around 3 ladies who were just as excited about the same thing I was.

We left the next morning, and it was such a bummer to go. I got so close to these girls in 4 days, and I miss them a lot already!

The drive home was pleasant but not as upbeat as the one on the way up.

We stopped in Marielle's town to finish off our rolls and to grab some lunch, then Mary Claire and I headed down to the coast.

We were back in my town by 10ish after an entire day of driving.

I had an amazing time with amazing people. The Preusseurs are quite possibly the sweetest people in the entire world. Marielle and Mary Claire are absolute goddesses. I am so lucky that I got to meet them and spend a few days of uninterupted time with them.

It was lovely to know that Steven would be here when I arrived home, and sometimes I can't believe how blessed I truly am.

Steven officially moved in at 2:00 AM on the day of my birth, and he is the gift that keeps on giving. He gave me a wonderful birthday, and the fact that he lives here is so surreal. I keep catching myself getting that familiar feeling that comes with realizing the weekend is almost over, but we don't have to part anymore. I get to go to bed with him, and wake up to him every day. Forever, if he'll have me.

At the stroke of midnight on July 8th, I was given a gorilla pod and a thousand kisses.

We proceeded to pack my tiny car to it's capacity, and drove home.

I woke up to a wonderful boy with a beautiful necklace for me

We got ourselves ready and went to breakfast at a favorite local joint

Steven took me to the Aquarium, where they had a six week old fox pups on display

I fell in love with them, and almost every other animal.

Steven manned the digital while I shot film most of the time, so please excuse the vast amount of pictures of my face until I get my rolls developed

We touched jellyfish, sat and held hands while we watched sea otters play, and were fascinated by all of the beautiful things that dwell under our oceans.

Steven had orientation at his new job, so I had an hour to myself to get some shopping done. I bought an adorable pair of shorts and the perfect shade of mint nail polish as an extra gift to myself. I bought these babies a few days ago as my actual birthday present to me.

We met my dad and brother for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants to enjoy delicious drinks and incredible steaks

Steven had the Filet & Shrimp, Eddie had the Ribeye, Dad had the Filet, and so did I

Our sweet waiter brought us a dessert plate even though we were stuffed, but we managed to finish it as a team.

We had after dinner plans, but I was exhausted and too stuffed to go through with any of them. And since it was my birthday, I was allowed to cancel plans to go home and watch a movie in my pajamas.

It was a perfect birthday.

Steven took me on a date day today which included Color Me Mine to get our creativity on, and a delicious dinner.

We decided to paint sushi bowls, and customized them to our liking

I went with a girly style bowl (big surprise) with little roses in the spaces between pink.

Steven went simple with a cool line design

I can't wait to see how they come out!

After we went swimming for hours, and I am just in love with my life.

My friends are wonderful
My family is so supportive
and
my boyfriend is the biggest blessing

My twentieth year is already the best.

4th Of July

I love July. Not only is it my birthday month, but to me it's the epitome of summer.
And with July comes Independence Day. Fireworks, barbecues, swimming, and all the colors of the flag. I can smell the hot dogs & hamburgers already.

When I was a kid, I loved 4th of July, but HATED the noise of fireworks.
I loved watching them, cried at the sound of them. I remember sitting in my parents' mini van watching fireworks at the country club and screaming every time they boomed.
I still get a little jumpy at the first few booms, but I love watching them just as much. I "ohh" and "ahh" like I've never seen one before.

I was supposed to have a 4th of July party at mi casa, but we're doing way too much work on the house to have people over.
Instead, I'll be hanging out at Steven's Starbucks with my red white & blue nails while he works most of the day.

I'm hoping we'll get to play with sparklers after he gets off.

N'tima made this delicious looking Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. I'm not a fan of chocolate (I can hear your gasps) but it is a crowd-pleaser. This looks like something that everyone would be a fan of.

To drink, I would definitely serve these Cherry Limeade Slushies from Good Life Eats! I'm thinking you could throw a few ounces of tequila in there for the 21 and ups. Sounds good either way!

I know hot dogs and hamburgers are a staple, but if you wanna get your fancy on, go with this flank steak and onion rings recipe from How Sweet Eats! Looks oh so tasty. The rings and steak require some prep, so you better get started!

A strawberry & blueberry salad would be a necessary addition. This recipe includes feta cheese (red white and blue!) and almonds. Yum.

I know I said that I'd do a beauty post next, but I haven't gotten around to trying all the DIY regimes that I want to share. It's coming, I promise.

A sick couch is the place to be when I'm down with a cold or flu. Basically, it's a couch in a different room than your bedroom tailored perfectly to your sicky needs. Mine usually has all the pillows from my bed, a few prime blankets, water bottles everywhere, and a remote always nearby.
Thanks to my brother, I've been hanging out on my sick couch for the past couple of days. The stomach flu is awful, and thanks to it I missed out on seeing the boy.

Speaking of the boy, Steven put in his 2 weeks at Starbucks yesterday. I am floating on air at the thought of this finally happening. He has to go in for his first day on my birthday, but I'm not bothered at all. He is leaving his job, his home, his friends, and his town behind for us. That is the most incredible birthday present, and I couldn't be more grateful.

Today I mustered up enough energy to get out of the house and wear something other than pajamas.

Phew.
I've been back home for about an hour from a day and a half trip to Tucson. Getting on a plane 2 days in a row is exhausting and stressful. I love travelling but ugh, going one day and coming right back the next is awful.

We left yesterday and I was not pleased to learn we were flying on a small plane. Small plane= bigger bumps. My fear of flying is under control enough to force myself on a plane, but not enough to keep me from crying in my seat.

The flight wasn't too bad, a bit bumpy on the way down but not horrible.

We landed in Tucson and were quickly greeted by the dry heat. We headed straight to my grandma's convalescent home to visit. She was feeling sick so we didn't stay for too long, but it's always nice to visit with her. We left to our hotel just as she was going to take a nap.

Tucson isn't a very happening place, especially during the summer when all the college kids are home. We spent some time watching TV in the room, then did some shopping at Urban Outfitters.

We had dinner at a local joint with awful pizza, and walked aroud for a little bit. My dad was getting tired while my brother and I were wide awake, so Dad went up to the room and we went to get Gelato.

Allegro Gelato is an amazing spot. They not only have delicious and unique flavors (pineapple basil, anyone?) but these incredible rotating freezers that they keep the gelato in. Super cool.

Eddie and I were even more awake once we got sugar in our systems, so we tried to get our energy out by jumping on the hotel beds.

It didn't work and I ended up staying awake way too late.

We woke up this morning earlier than I would have liked to, but we had a brunch planned with the family.
After giving Dad hugs and telling him happy father's day, we got ready quickly and checked out.
We met up with my grandpa and uncle for brunch at a new chicken and waffles joint. It's a cute place near the college. I'm not a fried chicken kind of girl, so I stuck with just waffles. I ordered 2 without realizing how huge they'd be. I ate half and was filled for the rest of the day.

We stopped by my grandma's home again, but she wasn't feeling very well again and wanted to nap. We said our goodbyes and realized we had 3 hours to kill before our flight.

We ended up going to the Tucson Mall for more shopping and I'm glad we did!

H&M was good to me.

I love Delia*s online shop, so I was happy to see they have a store in the mall! I saw a dress I planned on buying a few months ago, and tried it on right away. It fit perfectly, and it was on sale! The best.

I'm throwing a 4th of July party, and this dress is perfect for it. Woo!
The sales girls were so sweet and kept complimenting my outfit and accessories. Love when that happens.

We killed the 3 hours and got our butts over to the airport.

Just as we were about to take off, this happened.

We had to taxi back to the gate, and wait for the maintenance guy, then wait until LAX okayed our new arrival time. The whole thing put us back an hour, and it literally took 3 seconds to fix. Lame!

The flight back was just fine otherwise. I took an entire roll of film on just the 2 flights that I will get developed tomorrow. It was a gorgeous flight.

I have some AMAZING news!
Remember how Steven and I had to go to Carlsbad on Friday? Well, it was for an interview for a job in Costa Mesa. And guess what....

HE GOT IT!

This means he is moving in with me within the next 2 weeks. Incredibly excited. I cried the second he told me and didn't stop for awhile.
It's finally happening. After almost 4 and a half years of missing each other constantly, we are finally going to get to be together everyday. I'm crying out of sheer happiness again.
Once he's here we'll begin the search for a perfect apartment. I'm just oh so happy.

In other news, I'm considering dying parts of my hair pink. I went to Sally's the other day, but they didn't have exactly what I was looking for. I want a really pale pink or purplish pink. If you know of a good one, let me know!
So instead of hair dye, I treated myself to nail polish.

Essie's "Cute As A Button" is from a previous trip to Target, but I included it anyways. It's a really lovely summer color. I wore it with sparkley pink on top and loved it. I'm current wearing Essie's "French Affair" on my hands and ORLY's "Lollipop" on my toes.

I found these adorable stickers at the market and decided to put them on everything. If you make an order from the shop, expect to see them!

A Day In Pictures

Steven kept me up late, so I didn't even get out of bed until

I got out of bed, peed, and since Steven didn't wanna get up yet I hopped on tumblr.

I decided that it was time for Steven to get up. With lots of kisses and jumping on the bed, he was finally up for the day.

We had breakfast

then got ready for the day

While he hogged the bathroom, I put on Arrested Development and picked out my outfit for the day

Then we brushed our teeth

I did my makeup while Steven got dressed

and then we realized Steven was dressed exactly like his xbox avatar

We treck through traffic to get to Riverside

then we finally have lunch

I order a black berry iced tea, some more people show up, and we get down to business

I'm not a big board gamer, but Settlers of Catan is pretty awesome. The point of the game is to have the most settlements. I still don't fully understand the game, but it was quite fun.

The coffee shop closed at 9, and luckily we had just finished the game at closing time.

We were pretty hungry, so we invited Andrew and Erika to have dinner with us in Temecula.

Steven had a pomegranate margherita that he let me try, but I really didn't like it. Erika let me try her raspberry beer and I was in love. I'd like to skip 20 and just turn 21 next month.

I powered down my burger without taking a picture, it was stupid delicious

Steven had some intense burger, and he said it was the best he's ever had. Yard House was a good choice.

Erika and I were entranced by the mango sorbet on the desert menu, so we all shared a few scoops

We said our goodbyes and took off back to Steven's.

We originally had plans to meet up with more friends at a bar back in town, but cancelled on account of our over filled bellies.

Steven wanted to get a beverage so we stopped at Wal-Mart on our way back

and we were finally home around 12:20.

We spent the rest of the evening trying on our new purchases, snugglin', and watching TV.

I hopped back on tumblr and put on Arrested Development (we seriously watch it all the time) while Steven showered.

Like the baby I am, I passed out soon after.
It was a really nice day! I'm so glad Steven had the day off so we could spend some time together.

How awesome is the Instagram app? Really awesome. This post is going to be filled with pictures taken by it.
And while we're at it, the iPhone 4 is pretty awesome too. I upgraded over the weekend from my 3G and I'm in love. It runs so much better than the old one (which is my fault for dropping it so much) and takes much better pictures.

I had a really lovely day on Tuesday.
It started off with waking up at 11 to a handsome man in my bed. After breakfast I attempted to go to work, but my shift had been covered by another girl by accident. I shrugged it off and accepted my unexpected day off. My brother bought me ice cream, and Steven and I set off for lunch and errands.
We had teriyaki bowls at the Hawaiian Bread factory.

They were delicious, look how thrilled I look!
Then to Del Amo Mall to buy Steven a new shirt for his interview the next day.

We rushed home afterwards to meet up with my dad so he could take us to the Dodger game!
I haven't been to the stadium in a long time, and since I grew up near LA, it's a nostalgic place for me. I was definitely excited.

I remembered how boring baseball can be, but cheered along for our team. It wasn't until towards the end of the game that something exciting happened.

Steven and I have been watching all the seasons of Arrested Development on Netflix so it was super exciting when we saw him walking up the stairs in our section. He was super nice and made fun of my brother for not knowing how to use an iPhone camera. So cool.

Steven had an important meeting yesterday, so he got all dressed up. He wouldn't let me take a picture of his outfit before changing in to something more comfortable, but he looked so delicious all dressed up. Black button up, slim dress pants, dress shoes, YUM.

Yesterday, Steven accompanied me on a thrifting trip. He is officially my lucky charm.

We found the shoes at Salvation Army, while they were having a 50% off everything sale! They fit him perfectly!
The suitcases were found at a yard sale and they let us have them for 5 bucks! I was thinking I would have to talk them down to $5 each, but was happily surprised when she said $5 for both. Score.
The typewriter needs a new ribbon but otherwise works fine! The "SINGER" metal logo fell off, but I can just super glue it back on. I love it.

Today I got a roll of film developed and I am in love!
I haven't been very careful tuning my camera to the proper settings lately, so the past couple of rolls have been over/under exposed. This time I took time to read the light meter carefully and I'm so happy with the results.

The first shoes are my favorite. They're insanely comfortable and adorable. I fell in love with the dress right after trying it on-

Twirl by Kate Spade smells INCREDIBLE. Look at this gorgeous bottle. How could I resist?

It contains notes of Mandarin, Bergamot, Baies Rose, Pink Watermelon, White Peach, Red Currant, Blackberry, Star Jasmine, Magnolia, Orange Blossom, Tiare Flower, Sun-Kissed Skin Accord, French Macaron, Luminous Musk, Amber. So much delicious in one bottle. The lady at the perfume counter threw in a small container of Twirl lotion, a few designer perfume samples, and this adorable bag that has become my new lunch pail.

The second shoes were a complete impulse buy. They came in dusty pink and grey, but Steven insisted on the grey. I'm teeter-tottering on returning them, but I will probably end up keeping them. They are super cute and cushioned for comfort.

I ended my shopping spree with some necessities.
I've found the most perfect pair of jeans. They are actually capri pants, but when rolled all the way down they fit my 5'2" body perfectly. I needed a new white cardi for everyday life, and came across that cute bow shirt and loved it when I tried it on.

I made this for dinner tonight.
Yup, I totally deserve to reward myself.

Recipe from A Southern Fairytale
THE BEST CUPCAKES I'VE EVER MADE. HANDS DOWN. I forgot the milk but they still came out moist, fluffy, and delicious. Amazing.

I made this tonight and it was SO good. I served it on top of white rice and practically swallowed the entire thing whole. I used a lot more honey than the recipe called for and loved it.

I also made these tonight for Steven. It's a Pillsbury mix for "chocolate fudge brownie bites." I put chocolate fudge frosting and crumbled Milano chocolate raspberry cookies on top. Steven says they were "delicious."

Homemade pizza. I used Pillsbury pre-made dough, pre-made pizza sauce, a blend of cheeses from Trader Joe's, and chopped up sausage. It was yummy.

So good! It turns out similar to pound cake and tastes amazing with a little powdered sugar on top.

At midnight on Wednesday May 11th, Steven and I went to 711 to buy his first legal beverage!

We tried to convince the clerk to get in the picture but he refused. He chose New Castle and we headed back to my house to get some sleep.

In the morning I got up early for class, then came home to make Steven breakfast. We got ready for the day, then headed to Disneyland!
We had to leave at 4 so I could make my night class, so we only got to ride Indiana Jones and Pirates. We had time for lunch at Carnation Cafe, which is THE best place to eat in D-land. Trust me.

After lunch, we walked around the park to see if we could get in line for anything, but alas they all had really long lines. While walking around I had an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction. The top buttons on my romper (in the boob area) broke off and left me with a situation. I had a cropped cardi on, but it looked so dumb buttoned up, so Steven gave me his shirt that was too hot for him to wear anyways, and I rocked it over my romper.

After more walking around, we headed towards town square to meet up with my friend Juli! She told us stories about working at Dland and made us laugh a lot.
It was 4 o'clock so we took off back to my house, and I went to class. I left class early so we could grab some dinner.
Steven decided on PF Chang's, so that's where we went!

He ordered this tropical rum drink, and I had iced tea. We started off with lettuce wraps and egg drop soup.

After he finished his first drink, I told the waiter to surprise him with something different. He brought Steven a Mai Tai and Steven really liked it! I guess he's a rum guy.

We ordered our favorite dishes, mongolian beef and crispy honey chicken. I was already filling up from the lettuce wraps so we have a ton left over in the fridge.

Once we were packed up, our waiter brought us mini chocolate raspberry cakes and fortune cookies. I don't like chocolate and I wasn't about to complain, so Steven gladly ate mine.

We didn't realize it, but when we got to the restaurant the manager was up front seating people. We told her all about how it's Steven's 21st and he better get carded, so she comped our drinks! It was so nice of her!

We headed back to my house for more cake and laughs.
I am not the most professional cake baker, and I forgot to pick up icing and candles. I found red icing, pearls, a 8 candle and made it work.

The next morning we headed up the coast to Santa Barbara! The drive up was absolutely beautiful. We drove up the 101 which pretty much follows the coastline. It was breathtaking.
We checked into the hotel which was right across from the beach, and hung out for a little bit before exploring the town.

Our hotel was darling and in such a prime locations. The rooms were really nice and we loved the decor! Aside from the thin walls and loud neighbors, we didn't have any problems.
Our amazing hotel provided free beach cruisers to ride around town, which was perfect since parking is hard to find in the area. We rode the bikes up the main street, and walked around the shops.

The weather was so nice and everything felt perfect.
We stopped for dinner at an Italian restaurant on the main street. We both had pizza, his was covered in pepperoni and mushroom, and mine was margherita.

Then across the street for dessert at Pinkberry. I had mango yogurt with pom sauce, gummi bears, kiwi, and strawberries. Steven had original yogurt with chocolate chips, chocolate crunchies, strawberries, and kiwis. Yum!!!

We stopped by the liquor store and headed back to the hotel. Steven bought Wild Tea Vodka, which is really delicious mixed with lemonade and sprite.

Steven got his drank on while I took pictures of the pretty bottle, and we snuggled up and watched TV.

We got up early the next morning so we could drive up to Lompoc. Steven was going SKYDIVING(!!!!!!!!) at 9. We packed our stuff up, and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the hotel provided for us (seriously loved that place)

After about an hour of driving we were finally in Lompoc! While drivig up there, a coyote ran out right in front of us! Wooo nature!
Steven was nervous but so brave and really excited.

We checked in, and Steven was handed a stack of legal papers to sign JUST IN CASE something went wrong. The warning signs were really uplifting.

After signing papers and watching a video about all the things that could go wrong, we walked into the hanger and waited for a few other divers to show up.

Steven has never been on a plane before, let alone jumped out of one, so he was understandably nervous. We signed him up to jump 13,000 feet, the middle height. Any higher he would have needed supplemental oxygen, so we saved that for next time. He met his instructor, Chris, and soon enough he was suited up and ready to go!

And then they were off!

The plane took off and I freaked out in the hanger for a little bit. I really wish I would have gone with him because waiting around sucked. I drove up to the landing point and waited until I saw parachutes coming down. Steven was the 5th one down after 2 solo divers and 2 girls from Norway. I was so happy and excited to see him sailing down.

Once he got all of his equipment off, he ran right over to me and spun me around. He was shaking and so stoked on life!

We drove back to the hanger and he got his certificate! After chatting with the other divers, we headed back home. He was so excited the entire way and couldn't stop talking about it. I was so happy he got back safe and loved it.
We stopped along the way to take pictures because it was SO beautiful out there.

then we drove straight home

I was exhausted from being up early and driving all day, so after a nap, we went to the grocery store. I made steaks and mashed potatoes for everybody, and then desert cups with whipped cream and black berries.

I insisted my dad and Steven take a shot of tequila, and they each obliged.

We watched Blue Valentine until we passed out, then woke up this morning to head back to his house.
It was a WONDERFUL couple of days, and I am so ridiculously in love with Steven. I had a blast with him and I am looking forward to going skydiving with him next time. I can't wait.

The wind picked up pieces of my hair, and he held me close as it chilled my skin

I'm in love with this amazing man, and our time together is the most precious thing to me.

I've had a really good weekend! Yesterday I met up with Mary Claire at Fashion Island for lunch and shopping, then went to Santa Monica with my dad and brother for more shopping and dinner!
Santa Monica is one of my favorite places in California. It's very touristy and has lots of traffic on the weekends, but you can go on a weekday and possibly find parking. On a Saturday afternoon, we weren't so lucky and the entire Promenade and Pier was packed. We managed to find parking and walk around.
The weather was perfect and I dressed nautically for the occasion

After we were done shopping, we took a walk down the pier and on the beach. My brother and I rode a ride, and ran into my cousin Anissa! Then we had a late dinner at a Japanese restaurant and headed home.

Now I'm off to work on an outline that's due tomorrow. I'm an awesome procrastinator.

If you've been keeping up with my tumblr, you know that my mom isn't living with us anymore. This means I'm officially in charge of cooking. When my mom was living with us, I cooked often but now I actually have to plan meals! So here is what I made this week.

From Betty Crocker
1 lb ground turkey
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 hamburger buns

Heat gas or charcoal grill. In medium bowl, mix all ingredients except buns and onions. Shape mixture into 4 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Carefully brush vegetable oil on grill rack. Place patties on grill rack over medium heat. Cover grill; cook patties 12 to 15 minutes, turning once, until thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 165°F. Add buns, cut sides down, to side of grill for last 4 minutes of grilling. Serve patties on buns with grilled or raw onion rings.

I used wheat buns, and sliced fontina cheese from Trader Joes. I've made these before and they are so delicious! The parmesan and chives keep the turkey from tasting bland.

Simple and delicious bisquick buttermilk pancakes from Betty Crocker
2 cups Original Bisquick® mix
1 3/4 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg

Heat griddle or skillet over medium-high heat or electric griddle to 375ºF; grease with cooking spray, vegetable oil or shortening. (Surface is ready when a few drops of water sprinkled on it dance and disappear.)
Stir all ingredients until blended. Pour by slightly less than 1/4 cupfuls onto hot griddle.
Cook until edges are dry. Turn; cook until golden.

Easy peasy and yummy.

These are just basic pre-made Pillsbury croissants. I made 4 with spinach and feta, 1 with nutella, 1 with cream cheese, and 2 plain. The spinach and feta cheese came out amazing and were the perfect workday snack.

Pre-made cinnamon buns. Just bake and ice. Nom.

I based the recipe off of this one from AllRecipes but put my own spin on it with splashes of red wine and other ingredients I had around. It cooked 5 hours on HIGH in the crock pot, but I'd like to cook it for 8 on LOW next time so it can really roast. I served it with mash potatoes and salad, and it was a big hit at the table.

So that's what I've been cooking over the past week! Tomorrow I am having lunch and shopping therapy with the lovely Mary Claire, then spending some quality time with my family in Santa Monica. Monday I go back to school from Spring Break, and although I'm not excited to go back, I'm ready to end the semester with a bang.

Hello friends! Here's an update on the past few days.

Steven's mom got engaged! AND she asked me to be her maid of honor! I am so honored and excited for her. The wedding won't happen for about a year or so, but this really helps the transition of Steven leaving home.

I've always wanted to go to Coachella, but it's ridiculously expensive. Luckily, this year they streamed some of the acts online. I caught Mumford and Sons, and Kanye's set. AMAZING. I have to go next year.

In lieu of going to Coachella, Steven bought us tickets to Outside Lands this summer! It's a music festival in San Francisco featuring The Black Keys, MGMT, The Shins, Arcade Fire, and Beirut (at least that's who I'm most excited to see.) It's not until August, but I can't wait. I haven't been to San Francisco since 2000 with my family, and I remember loving it. My goal is to dress really cute and get featured on some festival chic blog ;)

I've been getting really lucky with thrift store finds lately, and found this beautiful typewriter. It works perfectly and I've been typing love letters and recipes on it. It's really loud so I've been yelled at by my brothers and dad when I get inspired in the middle of the night. They'll get over it.

Thursday was my dad's birthday, so he took us out to dinner at one of our favorite steak restaurants. We had a really nice time at dinner and made my dad laugh a lot.

Steven was down for the weekend, so on Friday we did some shopping. At an antique store, I found these adorable goose cups that are now up on my etsy!

Then to Target, where I found a polka dot bikini AND polka dot tights! I love Target! I always end up spending way too much there on stuff I didn't even think I would need.

We headed out to The Lab & South Coast Plaza for more shopping and a date night. I found the cutest strawberry print dress from Urban Outfitters, and because of a broken zipper I got it for $20! It's my new favorite piece of clothing.
We did a bit of window shopping for Steven, just to get a few ideas of what he wanted for his birthday. Our bellies started growling, so we had dinner in the mall at Quattro Caffe. It was DELICIOUS. I had margherita pizza, and Steven had a panini. Yum yum yum.
By the time we were done, the mall was closing but we snuck into Nordstrom with 5 minutes to shop. Steven had been drooling over these amazing Lacoste boat shoes all day so I convinced him to treat himself. While trying them on, he was offered a job! He emailed over his resume last night so we'll see what happens! Steven really loves fashion and getting to work in retail would be a great gateway. Keep your fingers crossed for him! :)

I've been really sick with a bad head cold since Saturday, so I've spent the last few days in bed. Last night I was feeling a little better so we dyed eggs. I only took film pictures so those will be up once I finish off the roll. I was so bummed out that we didn't get dressed up for Easter, considering I bought a skirt for the occasion. Oh well, it's officially spring and officially time for pastels.

I've been incredibly happy the past few days despite a few bumps in the road. I can only hope things keep turning out for the best.

I had such a necessary two days of fun! On Thursday, Steven and I started off our day by driving to Burbank to watch the Conan show again! It was a total blast and we saw ourselves on camera this time!

We checked in early and had some extra time before we went in, so we walked around Hollywood for a little bit.

I found an amazing khaki skirt at Zara for only $10! It was so incredibly nice out that I got to wear a dress sans cardigan & tights! I am loving this summer like weather. It puts me in such a good mood.
After Conan we had dinner with our friends Janel, Mark, and Mikey at this amazing Chinese restaurant. After dinner we went out on their boat and had a blast.

On Friday, we slept in which was much needed. I made breakfast, and we headed to the beach for a few hours!

We found 6 cats in these beach rocks. They have a whole system of tunnels and they eat sea creatures.

I got a little sun burnt (even with 70 SPF!), but it felt so nice to be out in the sun.
We crawled around in the time pools and played with crabs, sea anemones, and other creatures.
After we were done getting sandy, we picked up some Cha for Tea and headed to South Coast Plaza. We window shopped, had dinner at Rainforest Cafe, then headed back to Steven's house for the night.
It was a wonderful 2 days and I am so glad Steven could come down to my neck of the woods.

Today it was back to work for him, so I've been hanging out down here. Sally's was having a polish sale so I bought 3 colors of China Glaze I've been wanting.

Interior Design

In honor of finally pursuing a career, this is an interior design inspiration post!
I have a conference call today with a school in San Francisco! Then on Friday, Steven and I are touring a school in San Diego. They both offer Interior Design majors, but they are both completely different experiences. I'm really excited and thrilled to start somewhere.

Here are some spaces I've been drooling over.

Amanda was here from Colorado last week, and I got to spend some time with her! We took pictures at the beach, and I got one of my favorite shots of all time.

She came over another night and we stayed up late giggling about middle school memories and eating pizza. I miss her already.

I'm going to see Conan again tomorrow! The show emailed me yesterday about a cancellation and they had an open spot. I'm hoping Steven can get the day off so he can come with me. I always get lucky with these sort of things :)

I've been having a very good week so far, and it's definitely nice to feel excited about my future. It's warming up, so expect some outfit posts soon.

Steven and I spent a fantastic weekend together. Life has been crazy here in my house so I took Thursday off of work and school and jetted down to Steven's Wednesday night for some peace.
Thursday we spontaneously decided to finally celebrate our anniversary, and drove down to San Diego for the day. We stopped in La Jolla for the cave tourist trap, and walked along the shore.

(my Instax finally arrived and I'm in love with it!)

Then to the mall to spend way too much money, and try on clothes we can't afford. After, we scurried down to the Gaslamp Quarter for dinner, more shopping, and entertainment from Saint Patrick's day drunkies.

It was a lovely day and I have the loveliest boyfriend in the world.

When my internet life crosses over into my real life...

Wednesday night I had the pleasure of meeting Steven and N'tima!

N'tima and I have been tumblr bffs for forever now, and she was honeymooning near me. My girl Mary Claire came with me, and we all had dinner and went bowling! I actually won a game!!!!!!

Steven and N'tima are the kind of couple that are so in love with each other you can feel it. They let Mary Claire and I take pictures of them at their hotel and I love how they came out. You can view more here.

I've been in a bit of a funk this past week, so (my) Steven took me out to get my spirits up. We went to the mall to do some window shopping. We went into Barkworks and fell in love with this little corgi :3

We wanted to take her home but she was $1199 and even if I had that much money I would feel awful for not adopting from a shelter. Once we're moved in we HAVE to get a puppy. No exceptions.
We went to P.F. Chang's for dinner, and it was delicious. It was also my second time that week eating there ;). Yum yum yum.

I don't even want to attempt a Must Have Monday so I don't get tempted to put more things on my credit card. I am lusting over so many clothes right now. When I get paid next, I am so spending the entire check on new clothes for myself. My wardrobe needs a makeover.

Some exciting news, Steven and I are starting a blog together! It'll be based around women and men's fashion, but it'll also have some other fun stuff mixed in. I'm excited to see his views on new trends, and it'll be cool to give readers a guy's perspective! Once we figure out a good name we'll start posting. Any ideas?

Oscars, and a little update.

Just when I thought Mila Kunis couldn't get any more gorgeous, she shows up in this Elie Saab dress and reminds me to never doubt her beauty. Seriously the girl looks amazing and that dress is to die for.

Cate, Hailee, and Michelle looked incredible in light tones. Hailee's helped design her lovely Marchesa gown, and it's probably my favorite of the three.

I truly didn't hate anyone's dress enough to make a worst dressed list. Everyone looked stunning and incredible.

I had a roll of film developed today, and this was my favorite. You can click above to see the others.

Steven and I had our 4 year anniversary on Wednesday! He was sick, so we spent the day snuggled up on the couch watching movies. He got a Kodak PlaySport, and I got a FujiFilm Instax 210! I can't wait to make little videos on his camera. It goes underwater too!

Golden Globes 2011

Emerald ruled the night. Angelina, Catherine, and Mila killed it in green. Emma looks gorgeous in peach. Diana channeling old Hollywood wins my heart (I swear I'm not playing favorites, she looks stunning.) Last but not least, Olivia in a chocolate masterpiece. Her shoes (!!!) are what won me over. LOOK AT THEM!

Sandra, Lea, Amy, and Anne looked AMAZING, but they always do. My jaw didn't drop for their dresses, but they did look incredible.

Ugh.
Halle Berry. What were you thinking?????? That dress is hideous, girl. Why did you do this to yourself?

Natalie Portman. Natalie Natalie Natalie. Ok, the dress isn't hideous, but all eyes were on you tonight! Black Swan was amazing, you just announced that you're pregnant AND engaged, YOU COULD HAVE HAD SUCH A RED CARPET MOMENT. That dress looks like what at least 3 girls wore at my prom. I'm so disappointed in you.

A Year in Review

January wasn't too eventful. Steven tagged along with my family to Palm Springs for New Year's. I started my Spring semester, and my 365 project.

February was fantastic. Steven and I celebrated Valentine's Day and our 3 year anniversary! I stopped working on Fridays, which opened up my weekends to seeing Steven more often.

March was a busy month. I was really involved with school, and trying to balance my life. It was fun though! I went on a field trip with my biology class to this gorgeous park in Irvine. Later that day, we saw the Watson Twins!

In April, Steven and I spent our first Easter togehter! The best part of the month had to be seeing Paul McCartney at the Hollywood Bowl. It was the most amazing concert I have ever been to. I truly believe everyone should go see him live. I also began experimenting with film photography more, and really just photography in general.

Steven turned 20 this May. We celebrated by going to Disneyland, and taking our second trip alone to San Diego. I was going through a lot of stress this month, but I felt good giving Steven a really great birthday.

June was probably the most difficult month of the year. The stress from May carried over and got a lot worse. It affected all of my relationships, and I just wasn't happy. Luckily, this didn't last too long. I got to visit my dad's side of the family, which was really nice. I got my Canon 40D back from the shop, and started feeling good about my pictures again.

July was a month for recovery. I turned 19, and had an amazing birthday. Steven took me to Disneyland, and to dinner at the Blue Bayou. It was really cute. We also got to get away to San Diego for a night to see Thrice. Steven and I spent a lot of time together this month, and it was much needed.

Thankfully, August was really great. Steven came with us on a trip to Catalina. It was so much fun! We went parasailing, kayaking, and had an amazing time on the island. My friend Amanda and I took a road trip to Colorado, and I photographed my first wedding! It was an eventful month.

September came and went pretty uneventfully. Steven took me to the zoo, which was a blast. Fall semester began, and I took a lot of pictures. Nothing too exciting happened.

October was really up and down. It was mostly spent trying to figure out where my life was going, and dealing with a lot of family issues. The good parts of the month definitely outweighed the bad. Steven and I saw Gorillaz in San Diego! It was an INCREDIBLE show. That weekend we spent Halloween together, and it was a nice night in.

November was difficult. I was sick for most of the month, but toward the end things began to look up. Steven and I spent Thanksgiving together, and I met his side of the family for the first time.

Now here we are in December! I can't even believe it's over! December was really great to me. I got to go to Disneyland with high school friends, and spent an amazing Christmas with Steven. I got back Wednesday from visiting my grandparents in Arizona, which was really nice. Today, Steven and I took pictures!

It feels good to let go of 2010. Overall, I loved it, but it'll be nice to start fresh and new. I have VERY high hopes for 2011. Lots of things are going to change, and I can't be more happy about it. I'll reveal some of my resolutions tomorrow.

Christmas was perfect. Steven really went above and beyond for me and made me feel so appreciated.

My parents bought me a new lens, and a Marc Jacobs wallet that is on it's way! It matches my purse :)

Steven bought me an Eiffel Tower charm for my bracelet, Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume, adorable pj shorts, and Burberry rain boots! He spoiled me rotten, and I could kill him for spending so much money on me.

Steven got the Clarks he's been wanting, Burberry Sport cologne, a Norma Jean vinyl, an iHome and some clothes. My parents bought him a Burberry tie (can you tell what his favorite designer is?)

He freaked out and I loved the looks on his face. I also love how we bought each other boots and perfume/cologne without even knowing it.
I love all my gifts and I am super excited to put them all to use. Luckily, it rained last night and I got to splash in puddles in my new boots!

Christmas Eve was spent with Steven's mom and her boyfriend. She made us a huge dinner and we opened a few presents. She got me some comfy socks and a bunch of trinkets. After that we went back to my house. We woke up Christmas morning bright and early, opened presents, and headed to my grandparents'. We did our family thing and went home. We tried to catch Black Swan, but it sold out and we ended up hanging out at my house watching movies all night.
This morning we woke up and went back to Steven's house. His mom bought him a bigger bed for Christmas, and it was all set up when we got back! Now we both finally fit without falling off the sides! I wish I could have spent the night, but we're leaving to Arizona in the morning.
I have no New Year's plans, but I'm spending the weekend at Steven's.

Glee is my number one guilty pleasure. I have an unhealthy obsession with this show. It's just so good!
This song from last night episode is my favorite of all time

ANYWAYS, last Friday I attended the taping of this season's Sectionals episode!
My face was like this all day

Alley and I got to the Alex Theater in Glendale around 4:00, and there was already a huge line. We weren't guaranteed a spot, so I was worried that we wouldn't get in. After 2 and a half hours of standing around without cell phones (we couldn't bring them inside, hence no pictures) and running to Panera Bread for water, we had our wristbands! They filed us into the theater balcony, and the waiting began. We were towards the back but could still see everything since it's not a huge place. While they were setting up lights, Chris Colfer came out to do a Q&A!

I was picked to ask the first question, and it was of course "Why are you so adorable?" He answered "Genetics." He was too cute and so friendly with everyone.
They had us all calm down, and the first group went up to preform. After they were done, there was more waiting. Jenna & Kevin came out to entertain us!

They were really funny, and had to head back to be downstairs for the next scene.
The next group went up, and preformed really well.
Then, New Directions went on! They preformed two songs, and we all cheered and screamed for them. After they wrapped up, a lot of people started leaving, even when there was more filming to do! Alley and I maneuver our way to the front row seats! Once we sat down, I went to the bathroom. They had just told everyone to sit as I was walking up the steps, so I asked one of the crew members if it was okay if I went to the bathroom, and she said yes. As I walked out the balcony doors, Dianna and Chord were WALKING IN. I kinda stopped and said "Ohh HI" and then proceeded to profess my love for Dianna. She's my favorite of the whole cast. This was all in passing, so she thanked me, and walked through the doors.
When I went back into the balcony, Chord and Dianna were doing a Q&A.

They did their thing, and went back downstairs. A bit after that, Corey and Lea came out for questions!

Everyone was going crazy, and they were hilarious. Their time was cut short, as they had to go downstairs to do some pickup shots. I hope we were filmed in those shots, because we were right in front! We had to clap along to the music, and react to the outcomes of sectionals. After that, we were kicked out. We left right afterwards, since it was getting pretty late.
I actually have no idea who really wins, they kinda tricked us.
It was really cool to be on a set, and to see how things work. It was a blast, and I'm going to keep my eye out for similar events. I suggest going to a taping of anything if you can! Just be prepared to wait for awhile.

Before I go, they passed out these programs to the audience. I'll scan the inside after the episode airs :)

1. Urban Outfitter's Black Canvas Pump
I've been eying these shoes for awhile. They're the perfect height, and look comfortable. I need a good pair of black heels, and I think these are it!

2. ModCloth's Open Emotions Dress
That heart cut out is SO CUTE! The shape of the dress is adorable, as is the print. The only thing that worries me is how low the heart is. I think it'll be a heart full of cleavage which is not what I want. I wish you could try things on online. Wouldn't that be nice?

3. Original Sperry Top-Sider
Steven's obsession with boat shoes has made me really want some. He wants the same exact ones in his size, so I'm thinking we'll be "that couple" with matching shoes in the near future.

4. J. Crew's Shawl-Collar Cardigan
This is just so perfect. I love it. I need it.

5. TopShop's Ruffle Skirt
Frilly, ruffled, pale pink, and pretty. This plus opaque tights, and those UO shoes above would be perfect.

6. ModCloth's How Sweet It Is Coat
This coat was put up today, and I'm dying over it. It has to be the cutest coat I have ever seen. I really want it, but I'm having trouble justifying when I'll need a really warm (and expensive) coat while living in Southern California.
But look a those bows! They're so cute!

Getting to spend a ridiculous amount time with my boyfriend. Late night tea runs. Singing at the top of my lungs to the oldies. Getting a great roll of film back. Knowing that your roll is going to be great even before you get it back. Sharing a bed with him. Leaving pictures of cats on my friends facebook walls. Cop shows. Kanye's new album. Wearing shorts and tank-tops in November. Getting snail mail. Toast. Being unconditionally happy. Full days of R&R. Winning tickets to the Glee taping tomorrow night! Getting sweet messages on tumblr. Japanese food. Listening to the Demon Days album on repeat. San Diego trips. Tickle fights. Free candy. Pumpkin carving. Staying up way too late.
Those "Holy crap I love you so much" moments.

I'd like to do this every Thursday, regarding things that made me happy over the past week. There will probably be a lot of repeats (my boyfriend, my dog, my friends...) The idea was taken from GalaDarling's blog, and know I know why she does it every week! It's fun to remember what has made you happy :)
It's also an attempt to use this blog more than a place to summarize my weekends.

Happy (late) Halloween!

THURSDAY
I took Thursday off of work to get down to San Diego in time for the GORILLAZ CONCERT! A;KSD;FAKJSDFK
I left LB around 12, got to Steven's around 2, and Steven didn't get back from work until around 3:30.
We finally got out of town around 4:30, and got to SD about 6:30!
We stayed at the Hotel Indigo, and it was really nice! I've been wanting to stay there for awhile now, because the decor is just so cool!

The bed was HUGE and so comfy :)

We changed and headed out to Viejas Arena for the show!
It was AMAZING. N.E.R.D. came on right at 7:30, and they mostly played stuff off their new album. Towards the end they played "The Lapdance Song" and "She Wants To Move" so that got us up and dancing.
During the break between bands, Steven bought some merch and we got something to drink. Steven bought a Gorillaz jacket, an N.E.R.D. jacket and a poster. I regret not buying a shirt for myself! I'll probably order one online.
When Gorillaz went on, we went crazy. They opened with "Welcome To The Plastic Beach" and ended with "Demon Days." The show was absolutely amazing. The stage was amazing, and everyone was dressed nautically. Everything they played on the screen was so brilliant, I want to just watch a movie of all the animation they played. My favorite songs they played were "Dare," "Stylo," "Feel Good Inc." and the whole "Don't Get Lost In Heaven" and "Demon Days" compilation. Steven and I danced our butts off! It was just a total blast.
After the show, Steven wanted to wait by the buses to see if we could meet any band members. Being the awesome supporting girlfriend I am, I waited until 1 am with him. It was worth it! We ended up meeting Rosie Wilson (the girl part in "Dare"), Paul Simonon from The Clash, Gabriel (the drummer), Jamie (the artist behind all the Gorillaz art), and Damon (the brains behind everything)! Damon was attacked by everyone who was standing waiting for him to come out, and kept trying to get away. Steven and I were trying to be respectful, but Steven really wanted his poster signed. He was about to leave and I pushed my way through some rudies to get him to sign it. This one girl asked to take about 5 pictures with him, and kept interrupting his time with other fans to take more pictures! It was so rude! Steven was really bummed out that he didn't get a picture with him, but happy I wedged my way in to get him to sign the poster.

We didn't hang out for much longer after that, and headed out to find something to eat. We were STARVING! We found a Taco Bell, and finished everything before we even got back to the hotel. I was exhausted, so I showered and passed out in that giant amazing bed.

FRIDAY

We had to check out at 11, so Steven and I didn't get to sleep as much as we wanted to. We had lunch at Panera Bread (yum) and went back to Steven's house. Once we picked up Steven's paycheck and the rest of his clothes, we were on our way to LA. There was SO traffic so we didn't get to the Echoplex until 6:30. I was being so grumpy with Steven, but was a lot nicer after I ate. We thought the show started at 7:00, but it actually didn't until 8:30. We killed some time by playing Words With Friends on my phone, and talking to a couple of the band members. The Dig was great! They played some new songs, and had a lot of energy. You can give them a listen here. Steven bought a shirt, and we took off to my house. I interviewed him about the Gorillaz show while hanging out at my house that night.

SATURDAY

Saturday was my cousin Caleb's 1st birthday party! My mom, my brothers, Steven, and I went to Alhambra for burgers and cake in the park. I wore a Minnie Mouse costume that I wish I had pictures of because I thought I looked cute that day ;). I was really cold the entire time, which sucked, but it is always nice to see my family. Everyone was so glad to see Steven. I love how my family adores him.
After the party we went and bought pumpkins and candy for the next day. We went home, and got started on carving them.

Steven took me out to dinner at our favorite Japanese restaurant after we cleaned up our pumpkin mess. We had a really good conversation, and it was just really nice :3. When toasted pumpkin seeds when we got home, and watched random movies on TV.

SUNDAY
Halloween!!!
We got to sleep in! Once we were up and ready, we went downtown to the Pumpkin Patch. I wanted to take cute couple pictures of us, but it was so crowded that it'd be kinda awkward. I took a few film pictures, and we left. Steven wanted Pinkberry, so we went to 2nd street and walked around. I bought a Sailor hat to finish off my costume (which was just a striped dress I already had), and a duck nose for Steven. We went into a few different stores, and left. I wanted to finish my roll of film, so we went up to Signal Hill to take a few pictures. Then we dropped off my roll, and picked it up an hour later. I was so pleased with how they came out! I love getting back a good roll.

Once it was dark, the Trick or Treaters started coming around. We watched "The Human Centipede" between passing out candy. We ran out of candy around 8, and finished up the movie. I changed into comfier clothes, and we went to Cha For Tea for tea and food. I wasn't feeling so good, so we went home.

MONDAY
I woke up feeling awful. I called into work, and Steven took care of me all day. I started feeling better at night, so we went on a tea and donut run.

TUESDAY
I called into work because I was feeling so sick again. I had to take Steven home, because he had to work at 5, so I sucked it up. Once we got to his house I wasn't feeling good at all, so I decided to stay the night. I made him dinner when he got off of work, and we did some last night together snugglin'.

I left his house this morning in time for work, and now I'm here! I'm still feeling really sick. I think it's just a bad cold.

It was so nice to spend such a long time with Steven!

This camera strap came in the mail yesterday! I love it! I bought it on ebay, and it's has a little stain that I can clean out of it.

Last but not least, a new addition to my Vera family. Flower Princess. It smells SO good, and I didn't even know it existed! I love it.

Paycheck well spent.

I haven't updated in forever, because I've honestly been too lazy. I'm really happy lately, and everything is going pretty good. Steven and I are able to spend a lot of time together lately, and I'm enjoying that SO much. Next Thursday we see Gorillaz and N.E.R.D. in San Diego, so we are super excited about that. The day after that we are seeing The Dig, who is playing in LA. They opened up for Thrice a couple months ago, and we fell in love with their music. You can give them a listen here.
He should be able to hang out in my town for Halloween, so we'll be carving pumpkins, watching scary movies, and passing out candy. I'm excited! I've had pretty bad Halloweens for like 4 years in a row, so I'm determined to make this one good.

Hi!
My trip to Colorado was a blast.
We took off early Friday morning, stopped in Vegas for In n Out, and made it to our first destination in Richfield, Utah.

That night we ordered Pizza Hut, and went swimming. The next morning we finally got out of bed at 9:15 for free breakfast at our hotel, then packed up and went on our way. It wasn't until we went through the tip of Arizona the first day that the drive got pretty, but once we were in Utah it was gorgeous. We stopped along the I-70 at the breathtaking view points to take pictures.

After a good 6 hours, 15 hours over 2 days, we finally made it to Boulder, Colorado! It was so refreshing to get there after driving so long. We got settled into the hotel, changed, and went out. The town is adorable, and has a shopping center that reminded me of Santa Monica's 3rd street promenade. We did some shopping, ate, and then called it a night. The next morning we got up early to go move Amanda into her sorority house!
We got to Kappa Kappa Gamma and then started carrying boxes up 3 flights of stairs. It was such a work out, but 6 hours later, what was once an empty bare room was done!

Then it was time to go :(
I got to Denver airport around 6, and my plane left about 8:30. The plane ride was horrible. I've flown since I was old enough, but ever since my DC trip I've been terrified of flying. There was so much turbulence, and it was just awful. Luckily, my plane touched down in LAX safely, and my dad picked me up.
It was a really fun trip!

Monday I started Fall semester. I didn't get into the Marine Biology class I wanted, but I'm glad because my backup Astrology class seems fascinating. I'm also taking Social Psychology, which seems interesting, but I already cannot stand the teacher. But we'll see. My math and English class seem fine, but I'll be happy to get them out of the way. If all goes well, only 1 more semester after this one of city college! Wooo!

Steven was here for a few days, which was fantastic. We spent the time I wasn't working or at school just enjoying time together. On Thursday, he surprised me with lunch and sunflowers at work. He's so fantastic, I can't stand it :)

Thursday night we went shopping to find him something to wear to the wedding I'm photographing Saturday! He's wearing an H&M suit that makes him look delicious :)
I still have no idea what I'm going to wear, but I bought a dress from Antropologie on sale, and a $2 sticker chalkboard that's now on my door.

My favorite part is the little bow lining.

He left Friday morning, and I've been missing him ever since. I'll see him this Friday though!

Yesterday I hit the jackpot at Goodwill and the swap meet. I found 3 Polaroids ($15), 4 records ($4), and a brand new forever 21 dress ($10)!

Yay!

Today I went back to school shopping with my brothers and parents. I got a few things, and I bought Steven's 3 and a half year present (which is tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!)

Hello! It's been almost a month since I updated! This is going to be a big post.

Last entry I left off with plans for San Diego. We had a blast!

Thrice was a fun show. The first night we went with our friends Derek and Bianca. The beginning bands were great, but during Thrice I got punched in the face, so superman Steven took me out of the crowd. After the show we hung around outside and talked to the band members. The next night I didn't want Steven to have to worry about me getting hurt and ruining his fun, so I hung out in the back while he got super sweaty and sung along. Luckily he ran into a good friend, so he wasn't alone. These shows were apart of his birthday present, so I wanted him to have a good time.
These shows made me realize I am done with floor tickets, haha.

Since then I've been enjoying summer as much as possible. I've been hanging out with old friends, which is really nice. I finished summer school, and I passed my class! It was easy peasy, but I needed to pass it or I'd be screwed, so I was nervous.

Steven randomly got a chunk of days off, so I brought him down here. I was working and going to class almost everyday he was here, but it was so nice having him around.

I saw RENT at the Hollywood Bowl last Friday!

Ok, so I know it's gotten mixed reviews, but it wasn't terrible. I was expecting to be blown away, and it was definitely anti-climatic. It's difficult to do a theater performance at the bowl, just because of how the stage is shaped, and you can't really have set changes. The show was just ok, and lacked a lot of excitement. "La Vie Boheme" is my favorite number, and it was so unenergized that I was just bored of it half way through. Vanessa Hudgens did alright as Mimi. I read somewhere that described her more "Glee" than Broadway, which is a perfect way to put it. "Light My Candle" was pretty bad, but "Out Tonight" made up for it. Still no where as good as it should have been. Towards the end when Mimi is going in out of consciousness was laughable. Wayne Brady played Collins, and he was excellent. Angel, Roger, and Mark where alright. Benny was pretty bad. Joanne was great. Nicole Scherzinger (from The Pussycat Dolls) played Maureen, and she absolutely stole the show. She can sing SO well, and her acting was great! "Take Me or Leave Me" was the best scene because of her. Overall, I'm glad I got to see it.

Saturday morning I went to Hemet and spent the day with Steven. He worked 7-11pm, and we went back to Long Beach after he was off. Sunday morning we woke up, and got ready to go to Catalina with my dad and little brothers! The boat over there was exciting, and once we got there we checked in and relaxed around the condo we rented. Where we stayed included a golf cart to drive around the island! Hardly anyone has cars there, it's all little golf carts. We had dinner and had a laid back night.
Monday morning we got up, had breakfast, and went PARASAILING!

I wish I would have brought a camera up there. The view was beautiful. Steven and I were the only ones with the guts to do it, so the rest of them stayed on the boat and took pictures. We went up 800 feet! It's probably the most exciting thing I've ever done. After that, we went up the mountain and found wild deer!

They were so sweet and let us get up close when their babies weren't around. We saw a male deer with HUGE antlers, but we couldn't to him (probably would have ended badly if we did.)
We had dinner after, and did some walking around town.

Tuesday we had Mexican food for brunch, then Steven and I went kayaking. I was having a lot of fun, until I started feeling sea sick. Our hour was up anyways, so we headed back and laid on a bench and talked for awhile. My brothers and Steven went swimming, but the water was too cold so I laid out and didn't tan or burn (70 spf<3)
We tried to find deer again, but they were too timid to get close to us. We had Chinese food for dinner, and did some shopping and walking around the town.

Wednesday morning we got up early, packed, had breakfast, and got on the boat back. I had to work so my dad dropped me off on the way home. I was not excited to leave. Catalina is so much fun, and beautiful. The water is crystal clear. It was funny seeing the water change from gorgeous, to icky green, haha.
Last night Steven and I went to the AA factory, caught up on True Blood, and had tea with Megan. Megan and I are going to start taking Body Flow classes at her gym. She explained it as a yoga class mixed with pilates, so I'm excited for it.

I'm taking Steven back home today after work. I won't see him for a good 2 weeks, since we'll both be really busy.
Tomorrow, I'm leaving with my friend Amanda to Colorado! She goes to school there, and needs to take her car, so she asked me to make the drive with her. Her parents are paying to fly me back to LA Sunday night. I'm really excited! I believe we're stopping in Utah tomorrow night, and staying Colorado Saturday night.

I start fall semester on Monday, and I'm looking forward to it.

I'm 19! I'm 19! I'm 19!
I picked up Steven on Wednesday, and officially turned 19 in a McDonalds drive thru in Corona. We really wanted cookies and ice cream :).
I woke up the next morning to the puppy I found the day before, and fell back asleep. Then Steven came in and woke me up much more pleasantly. We got ready, and headed out for breakfast with Leslie. The food made me sick, and I was too cold in a skirt, so we took Leslie home and went back to my house to change. We ended up just hanging around my house for a few hours, kissing and playing with the puppies before we headed over to downtown LB for Color me Mine!

Then we went out to dinner with my family, and I got my amazing 50mm! I'm in LOVE with it.

Then Steven and I walked around Borders across the street, and went bowling!

We came home, and I passed out watching Glee.

The next day I went to work, then Steven and I went to Little Tokyo! After that, we ate at Cha for Tea in Alhambra, and visited with my aunt and cousins. They made me a "cake" of sugar cookies, and we played apples to apples until 1am. We got home, did some night swimming, and went to bed.

The next morning, we woke up and went to Disneyland!

I never went into the Sorcerer's Workshop before, and it is amazing. We spent like an hour in there.

We finally rode the Finding Nemo ride. Not worth a 45 minute wait. It was cool though, but not as fantastic as I thought it'd be.

Then Steven and I had dinner at the Blue Bayou! It's the restaurant inside of Pirates. It was so romantic, and delicious. It was the best part of the day :).

We went shopping on Main Street, ran around Downtown Disney, and left. It was a really adorable day.

Steven and I were going to go swimming but I passed out the second I laid down on my bed.
We woke up the next morning and went swimming, stopped at Cha for Tea, and went back to Hemet. I napped, and then stopped by Starbucks for some goodbye kisses while Steven was on his break.
I'll see him Thursday :)

My mama took me shopping for my birthday!

I've been wanting High Beam for almost forever, and I can't wait to use it. I also got a small tube of Bad Gal because I never end up using the huge bottle before it gets all nasty and clumpy. I really love that mascara. Sephora gave me a little eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow since it's my birthday month! Shopping in Sephora makes me want to do my makeup everyday, but alas, I am too lazy when I'm getting ready to leave. I want everything in that store.

I also got a lipgloss from Chanel in "Glaze." It's not actually purple when you put it on, it's mostly clear with a little hint of pink. My mom swears by Chanel lipgloss, and this one was so pretty :)

And Hollister was having a sale, so I got the shorts for $20, and the shirt for $10! The shirt has lace on a small portion on the back, and a little lace pocket on the front.

But my absolute favorite thing that I got today is...

It was a dream. I've been wanting this bag forever, and my mom had $200 in Nordstrom notes, so she bought it for me! It's perfect. It fits my camera and all my junk without looking oversized. It's a crossbody, and it's so spacious. I. love. it. Now all I need is the matching wallet. Steven??? ;)

Speaking of Steven, I snuck down to Hemet on Saturday after making dinner. My family had no plans for the 4th of July, and I didn't want to be alone at home all night, so I decided to go have fun. I got there around 11 after hardly any traffic, and we did some snuggling before we went to bed. Sunday Steven had to work 12-8, which was really cool, so I preoccupied myself around town. I exchanged a romper I bought a few weeks ago for this really cute hat (called the "Madeline Woven Hat" awesomely enough.)

I also got a really cute striped shirt and an earring set that don't had pictures on the website, and I don't want to take pictures.
Steven finally got off, and we went back to his house before heading over to In n Out for his co-worker's last In n Out night before he left for school. Steven and I ended up going straight home and going to bed since he had work early this morning. He had to be there at 8, and right before he left he woke me up to talk about how much he loves me. I was tired, but I am so happy he did. He told me how beautiful I look right when I wake up (yeah okay) and that he can't wait to see me on Wednesday. I stopped by his work on my way out of town and said goodbye. I got home at 11, and spent a few hours cleaning.

I started summer school, and it's awful :( I can't wait until it's over.

Tuesday night I saw Taking Back Sunday at the Wiltern, and it was such a fun set. It reminded me of being an angsty 8th grader.

My birthday is next Thursday, and I just skip it, and stay 18.
I'm so busy, and my life is upside down right now. I need it to go back to normal soon.

I wake up to my phone alarm/my dad yelling at me to get up. We have to go get an estimate on my car at 10:00.

I say good morning to Woods, who is comfortably cuddled up against my legs.

I do a quick clean up of my car. I still had clothes in the backseat from Steven's house last weekend.

I speed over to my dad's office.

Hi Dad!
We went to the auto place, and I'll drop it off next week. My dad hit my cousins car on Mother's day, so she was there too. We left her car there, took her to get a rental, then I dropped my dad back off at his office.

I'm back home at 12:05.

I'm greeted by Woody, and to my pleasant surprise, grandma and grandpa! They're making tortillas, yum yum yum.

I shower,

blow dry my hair,

and do my makeup.

I realize I have to update my calender, and reminisce on how much of a good month it was.

I spend most of my time at work watching Iceland.

I'm done with work at 5, and I pick up Leslie. Hello Leslie! We talk about her new brown hair, and take off.

We get to Del Amo Mall, and do some shopping. I bought a puff sleef blue striped shirt at H&M.

The sun is setting, and we leave the mall at 7:46.

We head over to Alley's house.

Hi Alley! I gave her the polaroid camera and clothes she left in my car a month ago, and we gossip for a good hour.

I'm craving something sweet, so we pick up Cha for Tea.
Leslie's not feeling well, so I take her home.

I'm home at 9:52.

I change into jammies,

sneak around my sleeping dad (seriously, how funny is he sleeping? He looks like he's really pondering his dreams),

and do some tumbling (Hi Jill!).

Tumblr was boring me, so I turned on a documentary about getting struck by lightning, which ended up being more boring than tumblr.

I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and got into bed. I left my camera across the house, and I was way too tired to go get it. So I took a screenshot on my phone right before I called Steven to talk to him before I passed out.

Way too late.

So that was my day! Pretty laid back. I really liked doing this. I'm going to try documenting my day in pictures at least once a month. I kinda wish I took more, haha.

Tomorrow, it'll be a year since I graduated. Kinda freaking out.

I had the best 5 days ever.

Wednesday I took my last two finals of the semester. Thank goodness I'm done. There was something about this semester. I liked my classes, for the most part, but I was just so incredibly unmotivated. I'm so glad it's over, and I'm off for a month.

Anyways, after my finals I went to work, and drove to Hemet. I got there around 7:30, and hung out for a little bit before he got off. Then we went to Temecula to hang out with Steven's friend Eddie, who he hasn't seen in a few months. We ended up just hanging out at his house for a few hours, then went home and slept.

Thursday morning we got up and got ready for the day. Steven had to work until close, so I busied myself. I deposited my check, went to forever 21 and bought a really cute anchor sweater, and had dinner with Derek and Bianca. After Steven got off, we hung out at his house and went to sleep.

Friday morning we woke up, and I was so frustrated because it took forever for Steven to get out of bed and get ready, haha. We didn't leave for San Diego until 2:30! We got to our hotel around 4:30, and can I just say it was breathtaking. We stayed at the Westgate, and it's beautiful. We checked in, went up to room 1499. After settling into the hotel, we went out on the town. We were right across the street from Horton Plaza, and the Gaslamp District, and it was so nice not to drive anywhere.

Made a stop at Sam Goody, and I bought Steven a Circa Survive record. Then we headed across the street for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. It was delicious. After dinner, we went to Urban and some small shops around the area. We were going to see a movie and had time to kill before, so we got some ice cream, but ended up ditching it for snacks and movies in the hotel. I was glad we did. We got in our jammies, ate a bunch of candy, and went to sleep.

Saturday morning I woke up and laied in bed for a few minutes before waking Steven. All of the sudden the building feels like it's swaying, and everything was kinda shaking. At first I thought it was because it's an older hotel, but then it happened again! I woke Steven up and told him that I think there was just an earthquake, and he said "no." and rolled over. I checked online, and sure enough there was two in a row. I coaxed Steven out of bed because I was starving, and we went to Panera, and Steven fell in love with the place. It's so good, I knew he'd like it. We did some more shopping, and then went back to the hotel to relax some more and take pictures.

We ended up getting bored of our room, and took the car out to Old Town. We couldn't find ONE parking spot, so we drove down to Seaport Village and walked around. It's really cute and fun, but we were starving and none of the restaurants down there sounded good, so we headed to In n Out. We ate, and stopped by Nordstrom's Rack, which I'm glad we did. I had promised Steven I'd buy him some new shoes while we were down there, and we found some nice Sperry's he liked for super cheap. He had tried some on at the regular Nordstrom's that were double the price. There was a target near, so we picked Garden State since we forgot to bring movies. I also bought some snacks, and we went back to the hotel for the night.

Garden State was pretty good. Natalie Portman got on my nerves a lot, but it was overall a good movie.

I really liked this line-

"You know that point in your life when you realize the house you grew up in isn't really your home anymore? All of a sudden even though you have some place where you put your shit, that idea of home is gone. "

We cuddled and talked a lot after the movie, and then went to sleep. I was pretty bummed out that night that we had to leave in the morning.

I woke us up at 10 to get ready and be out of the hotel by 12. We didn't even get started until 11. We checked out, and parked across the street so we could eat at Panera again, and buy some more stuff.

It wasn't a really eventful trip. I was low on money, and I wanted to take Steven shopping for birthday presents, so we didn't go to any of the expensive theme parks. I was just really glad to be alone together. I was pretty stressed out the entire trip though, because of money and stuff at home, so I don't think I had the best time I could have. Steven was magnificent though, and I cannot wait to marry that boy.

We had to get back to Hemet in time for Steven to work, and we ended up getting back earlier than I expected. I napped, and we left for work. Afterwards we went to In N Out, and then ended up going back to his house for cuddlin.
I left in the morning.
I miss those days so much already.

Busy busy bee.

My Bio class went on a field trip to the LA Zoo on 5/8. I haven't been there since I was really little, and it's so nice. It's a lot less expensive than the San Diego Zoo too. I probably won't go back until they finish their construction, but I'd really like to take Steven.

We were given a guided tour, and our docent was hilarious. She taught me a lot about the zoo and all the animals we looked at. She paid a lot of attention to the animals I thought were more "boring" but I was completely blown away learning about these "boring animals. It really inspired me to think about majoring in biology and becoming a zoo keeper, or an exotic animal vet.

There was the CUTEST kids at the zoo, it wasn't like bratty theme park kids. They were cracking me up the entire time. I managed to snap a picture of these adorable ones.

Ellie died that morning. I was really upset. She must have been sick when I adopted her :( I felt awful.

Mother's day was pleasant. I woke up too late to make breakfast, but my mom was fine about it. We went to my grandma's for a few hours, and then I left to pick up Steven for his birthday week!

I got to his house, but he was at the gas station. 5 minutes later, I get a call that he locked his keys in his car. So we called AAA, and they came and helped us out. My boyfriend does this at least once a month, haha. We finally got back to his house, did some kissing, and got ready to go. He drove back to my house, and I took pictures and napped.

We got back to my house, and I did homework. It was almost impossible. Steven is so ridiculously distracting. Once I was done, we watched Iron Man, and I went to bed.

Sunday was also a year since prom. I can't even believe it's been a year.

Monday I went to class, and skipped out a little early to spend time with Steven. We snuggled and had breakfast, then I went to work. After work, we went to the duck pound, and grabbed Cha for tea!

We were surprised that there are so many turtles in the little pond. I've only see one or two before, but we saw at least 15 of them poking their heads out of the water. One of the big geese got upset with Steven for some reason, and nipped his ankle. I just ran away.

That night I worked on my debate for the next day & cooked. Steven and I were going to eat out the next night , and I wanted to cook him something. He asked for spaghetti, so I made spaghetti and pizza! I tried a new sauce recipe, and I guess it was good because it was all gone by the time I had sat down and started eating. I also baked his cakes.
The second it became Tuesday, I screamed "Happy Birthday!" and attacked Steven with kisses. He wanted his gifts right then and there, so I let him open them. I just got him 2 shirts, and a Japanese soda he likes. I just kept it simple so that way we'd have money for our San Diego trip later this week, where I can spend much more on him. He tried on his shirts instantly, and started dancing :).

I went to class to do my debate, which I did really well on. It was about plea bargaining, and if it should be used in the US. We had to argue for it, and Steven helped me a lot by letting me practice on him. I got a B+. It would have been higher but I spoke really fast and forgot a few points.
I ran by Ralph's for balloons and candles, then went home to frost cakes and decorate. I put up streamers and his sign in the kitchen, then dragged him out of bed to look at it. He was all smiles. I made him breakfast, and we got ready for the day. We had Disneyland plans, but couldn't go until 3, when Steven's mom's friend could get us in for free. So with time to kill, we went to South Coast Plaza for lunch. We ran around Disneyland for a few hours, and had a blast.

We were beat after Disneyland. They closed at 8, and we were kinda glad, haha. I had been up since 6 with hardly any sleep. We were supposed to go out to a restaurant, but ended up getting In N Out. We came home, and sang had birthday cake!

I think we just cuddled up and slept after that. I don't remember, I was exhausted.

The next morning I had a big test, which I stupidly didn't study for. Ugh. After that I woke Steven up for breakfast, and went to work. He went back to sleep, haha. I came home, and we had plans to go out, but we were broke. So I took a nap, and we just hung out around the house. Towards bed time, I decided it would be a great idea to build a blanket fort. And it was a great idea! Steven is has impressive blanket fort skills. We put up Christmas lights, and watched the Incredibles on my laptop.

I passed out halfway into the movie. I fall asleep so freaking easily, it's kind of annoying.

The next morning we got up early so I could take him home and be back in time for work. I absolutely hate that last few hours. I'm upset because he's going to be ripped apart from me soon, and I'm trying happy to at least be around him. I got up extra early to drop off my final, and then got him up to go. We were both so tired. I got to his house pretty quickly, and even hung out for a few minutes to watch him open up the presents his mom bought for him. His mom also wrote him this long adorable letter, where she says something along the lines of "I know you'll be getting married soon (to Madeline" and it made me so happy :).
I left at 11, and ended up being late to work because of a shooting on the 405. I didn't get in trouble or anything, but I was so frustrated with the traffic. It took me 45 minutes to get to my work which was 15 minutes away from where the traffic was.

It is incredible how fast time flies with Steven. We had 5 days together, and it truly felt like 1 day.

Friday I had to work all day, because one receptionist was sick, and the other wasn't answering her phone. I didn't mind, but I just did not want to be there for almost 9 hours. After work I hung out with Leslie, and got Cha for Tea (I think I mention this place every time I blog. It's delicious.)

Yesterday was my baby brother's 13th birthday. It's wild to me that he's 13. He got a bike, and he's super excited about it. It's his first fixie, so he's stoked about it. I hung out with Leslie around town for a few hours, then had dinner and developed film.

Today I've just been feeling down. I'm just in a funk I think. I took my dog to the dog park, and ran around with him for an hour. I've been working on my traffic school since. Pretty boring day. I don't have class until Wednesday, and it's just 2 finals, then I'm done with the semester! I have a month off, then back for summer school.

Thursday I'm leaving to Steven's, and Friday we are off to SAN DIEGO. The excitemynet just hit me. One of my favorite memories is our trip last summer down there. I've got butterflies just thinking about it :)

Hi!
I've been keeping busy, and staying on top of school. It feels good.

On Wednesday, Leslie and I got ice cream, and went up to Signal Hill for some pictures.

On Friday, I saw my love.
He was sick, so we cuddled in bed all day. I fell asleep a lot. We ended up ordering a pizza. He started feeling better around 8, so I helped him hang up some posters, and measure his windows for blinds. Have I mentioned he moved? I don't think so. Anyways, he moved, and I love his new room so much. After that, we made a Mango Tango trip (SO GOOD), and then ran around Wal-Mart. We bought some blinds & a movie, then headed home. He started getting ancy, so he vacuumed, and I passed out while he was vacumming, hah!
At 3am, I woke up to Steven playing video games, and he told me I was singing Gorillaz in my sleep! I was cracking up so much. I then got back into half-asleep mode, and told Steven that if I was a car, I'd honk at him, because he was taking too long to come to bed. I remember him coming over and attacking me with kisses, and then I held him until I fell back asleep. I am ridiculous when I am sleeping.

Saturday Steven worked a ridiculously long time, and I had hardly anytime with him. After he got off, we went back to his house, and had a dance party! It was so much fun, haha. Then we picked up his friend Jeremiah, and grabbed Denny's. We went home, cuddled up, and I passed out.

Sunday I woke Steven up, dragged him out of bed, and drove out to the lake!

The lake was so much fun. We found a secluded spot, and I took my shoes off and splashed around. Steven was skipping rocks and being adorable. We ran around and kissed a ton. We left the lake, and headed back towards Steven's. Then we stopped at this amazing animal shelter up in the mountains, where they rescue death row dogs. All the dogs were so cute, and we wanted to take all of them with us. We went back to Steven's for food, and then he got ready for work. We said goodbye at his Starbucks, and I went home.

I miss him already, but I might see him on Saturday! If not, Monday! And Tuesday is his birthday! Hooray!!!

This is Leslie's birthday on April 16th :)

We went vintage shopping in downtown Fullerton, ran around 2nd street, went out to dinner at Tokyo Wako (so good), then had cake at my house. It was such a fun day

April 17th was my mom's cousin's baby shower. We ate too much at Buca di Beppo and then went shopping in Pasadena!

April 21st was my dad's birthday. He is 62! I always tease him about how old he is. He is my hero.

We had dinner at this delicious Brazilian restaurant in LB.

On Friday I went to Steven's. Once I got off of work, this HUGE grasshopper was on my windshield! He accompanied me the entire way home, and then wouldn't get off until I flicked him off with a notecard.

Friday night I got to his work, and seriously attacked him in hugs and kisses. I missed him so much. We went back to his house after he was off, and then ended up at Wal-Mart, I believe. The night is kind of a blur, considering I was up so early. I finally got to sleep around 3 am.

Steven has decided he wants a guinea pig, so we went to the pet stores around town to check them out. We went to this yogurt place called Mango Tango, and oh my goodness it was amazing. I want some now.
Sunday we woke up, had breakfast, and headed out to Temecula. We walked around the mall, and had lunch at this sushi place nearby. Then, we went to a Petco across the mall to see if they had guinea pigs, and we found a hamster you could adopt for $5! She came with a cage, so I adopted her

Spring Break was the worst week ever.
Monday: car accident
Tuesday: back pains
Wednesday: Urgent care
Thursday: Ultrasound and the most necessarily busy day ever.

The weekend sucked too. I went to Steven's on Friday, but we spent hardly anytime together. He worked Friday 4-11pm, Saturday 3-11pm, and Sunday 3-10pm. So that was awful. It was nice to see him at all though.

I'm just glad that week is over.

Friday is Leslie's birthday, and I'm really excited for it.

I won't see Steven until MAYBE the 23rd :(. On the upside, he got a webcam so we can Skype!
